Justin Verlander struck out 10 batters and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez
homered and scored 3 times as the Boston Stranglers defeated the Detroit 40's
by a score of 14 to 8 at Comerica Park.

Verlander(11-8) had a steady outing. He surrendered 10 hits and 5 walks in 9
innings and surrendered 3 homeruns. Detroit was not lacking for run support
as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they seemed
to forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.

Kelvim Escobar(18-3) took the loss. Verlander didn't realize how many
strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had 10 he was obviously
surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't
think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?'

In a good matchup it was the Wall St Millionaires 8, the Sea Isle SeaGulls 6
in 10 innings at Wrigley Field.

The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Wall St won the hard fought

struck out. Bengie Molina then singled. After another out, Moises Alou came
to the plate and lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 4th of the
season) resulting in an exciting win for Wall St and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. It was roller coaster of a game as the
lead change hands 5 times.
