Right fielder Xavier Nady ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the
blistering-hot Detroit 40's staged a dramatic comeback over the Boston
Stranglers by a score of 7 to 5 at Fenway Park.

Detroit came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning with 3
runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Martin Prado kicked off the
action when he doubled. Bengie Molina came next and he reached on an error.
Grady Sizemore was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Melvin
Mora was up next and he clubbed a three-run home run (his 6th of the season).
Boston had 10 hits in the game while Detroit had 7, but Detroit had the more
timely hits.

Damaso Marte(8-3) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Marte was
helped out by Trevor Hoffman who recorded his 1st save. The loss was charged
to Joakim Soria(4-4) in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 1 hit
and no walks.

Jim Leyland was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at
bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there?
You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what
makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over
'til its over.'
