Gio Gonzalez(10-7) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Gonzalez recorded 9 strikeouts. Boston ended up with 11 hits for the game while Baltimore had 6. Gonzalez got help from Andrew Bailey who was credited with his 17th save. Joe Saunders(3-18) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 8 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 11 hits and 1 walk. Hamilton led the offense for Toronto. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 1st inning, doubled in the 7th inning and tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 9th inning. Mariano Rivera was perfect in the ninth giving him his 29th save on the season. The victory went to Brett Anderson(1-1) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Dan Haren(11-13) was given the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings. Wainwright(15-7) pitched a solid game. He gave up just 10 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Colorado had 11 hits for the night. Vicente Padilla(0-2) was hit with the loss. Moises Alou was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.' Neither team managed to score in the first nine innings. Yardley came out on top in the 10th inning. Pedro Alvarez got things going when he tripled. Franklin Gutierrez stepped up next and he drew a walk. One out later, Jose Bautista stepped in and he hit a deep fly. Guerrero followed and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Both teams totaled 10 hits on the night. Boone Logan(3-3) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Paul Maholm(4-20) suffered the loss. He pitched 9 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 walks. Arroyo(8-16) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the Cincinnati batters. He allowed only 3 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Cincinnati tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. Edwin Jackson(5-20) was the loser. 'We didn't have a whole lot of chances tonight,' Dusty Baker said. 'Arroyo just was too much for our guys.'

Kershaw(17-6) had a strong outing. He didn't give up much, just 7 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings and surrendered 2 'long-bombs'. Sea Isle had a total of 13 hits for the game. The loss was charged to Brian Sanches(4-1) in relief. He surrendered 3 runs in 1 and 2/3 innings and saw his ERA increase from 3.90 to 4.26. Kershaw didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had 15 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?' MINNESOTA AT CHERRY HILL Snow Birds...... 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 - 2 5 0 Maulers......... 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 1 - 3 11 1 Win:Marcum(10-2) Loss:Aardsma(4-1) Homeruns- P.Polanco(5th), M.Cabrera(44th) Shaun Marcum had a strong outing and Miguel Cabrera slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at US Cellular Field as the Cherry Hill Maulers won a thriller over the Minnesota Snow Birds in, 3 to 2. The game was won by Cherry Hill with a run in the 9th inning. After two were out Nick Swisher smacked a single. Cabrera stepped into the batter's box and he doubled making Cherry Hill the winners and sending the 37,461 fans home happy. Cherry Hill totaled 11 hits on the night. The win was credited to Marcum(10-2) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs. David Aardsma(4-1) absorbed the loss in relief. The winning ways continue for Cherry Hill. They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days. Minnesota has a record of 69-57 after the loss. Wall St scored 3 runs in the decisive 5th inning. The biggest moment was provided by Pujols who silenced Citizen's Bank Park as he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. Wall St had a total of 9 hits for the game. Matt Cain(12-8) allowed 3 runs in 5 innings, and picked up the victory. Luke Gregerson was credited with his 8th save. Tommy Hanson(14-6) took the loss.
