The Atlanta Prohibitioners scored 5 runs in the 8th inning and defeated the
Toronto Scrub AL1 by a score of 6 to 3 at Turner Field.
 
Jon Rauch(1-1) earned the victory with a fine relief performance.  He didn't
give up much, just 1 hit and no walks in 2 innings seeing his ERA drop from
4.95 to 4.50.  Jeremy Accardo earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 6th
save.  
 
The losing pitcher was Saul Rivera(5-5) in relief.  The Atlanta ballclub's
record now stands at 52-54.  With this loss, Toronto has a 3-7 record of
late, 38-73, worst in the division overall.

At Dolphins Stadium the Philadelphia Phranks easily handled the Sunshine State
Stalkers by the score of 6 to 2.
 
Philadelphia jumped on top to stay in the top of the 6th inning as they scored
2 runs on 1 base hits.  Sunshine State had 10 hits in the game while
Philadelphia had 7, but Philadelphia had the more timely hits.  
 
Derek Lowe(11-6) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Chris
Young(15-4) suffered the loss.  He gave up 4 runs and 5 hits in 7 innings.

Orlando Hudson smacked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Binghamton Brawlers
beat the Wall St Millionaires by a score of 12 to 5.
 
Hudson had a big day against Wall St.  He rifled a three-run blast in the 4th
inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 10th of the season) in the 9th
inning.  Binghamton had 18 hits for the afternoon while Wall St had 10.
 
The winning pitcher was Carlos Villanueva(8-2) who allowed 5 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Noah Lowry(7-7) was hit with the loss.  He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 8 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.  
 
Binghamton now has a record of 55-55.  Wall St has a record of 55-55 after the
loss.

Joe Blanton was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Joey Gathright had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Angels Stadium
as the Pinehurst Pin Oaks beat the struggling Oakland Scrub AL2 9 to
4.
 
Blanton(12-6) delivered a fine performance for Pinehurst.  He surrendered 11
hits and 1 walk in 9 innings.  Pinehurst rapped out 17 hits for the
afternoon.  
 
Braden Looper(2-15) absorbed the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 13
hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.

Second baseman Placido Polanco had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at US Cellular Field
as the strong Cherry Hill Maulers won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat
the Washington Scrub NL1 by the count of 5 to 4.
 
Cherry Hill won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2
runs.  After an out was recorded, Chone Figgins keyed the rally when he drew
a walk.  Figgins got a great jump and stole second easily.  After another
out, Jim Thome stepped in and he blasted a two-run home run (his 30th of the
season) giving Cherry Hill the win and sending the home town fans into a
frenzy.  A wild affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.  
 
The victory was credited to Joe Nathan(4-7) who went 1 inning, allowing 2
runs. The loss was charged to Ryan Dempster(4-4) in relief.  
 
With this win, Cherry Hill has a division leading 70-37 record.  They have
been 5-5 lately.  With the loss, Washington has a record of 4-6 lately,
45-63, worst in the division overall.

Left fielder Matt Kemp went deep and had 3 RBI as the Sea Isle SeaGulls
defeated the Colorado Scrub NL2 by a score of 13 to 6 at Coors Field.
 
Sea Isle came up with 4 runs in the 3rd inning.  The key offensive moment was
provided by Nyjer Morgan who quieted the home crowd when he cracked a two-run
shot (his 1st of the season).  Sea Isle simply wore out the Colorado pitching
staff, scoring in 6 different innings.  
 
Micah Owings(3-2) went 3 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. The
losing pitcher was Doug Davis(1-14).  He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and
4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Kazmir(10-5) pitched a fine game.  He went 8 innings allowing 8 hits and 4
walks and was touched for 3 homeruns.  Francisco Rodriguez was perfect in
relief and got the save, his 23rd.  
 
Dan Haren(6-13) was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 7 innings allowing 9 hits
and 5 walks. Jim Leyland was upset after the game.  'I don't like to complain
but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said.  'Maybe they ought to
start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'

Shaun Marcum pitched a complete game and Chris Young had 2 base hits as the
Boston Stranglers beat the Minnesota SnowBirds by a score of 5 to
1.
 
Marcum(2-0) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He allowed just 6 hits
and 3 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 1.42 to 1.17.  Boston totaled
7 on the afternoon.  
 
Jake Westbrook(2-5) absorbed the loss.  He surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks in 5
and 2/3 innings.
