44,725 fans were treated to a fine game at US Cellular Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Cherry Hill Maulers won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

Cherry Hill came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning scoring 2 runs using 2 hits. Placido Polanco led off and keyed the
rally when he slapped a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Chone Figgins
came up and he reached on an error. Vernon Wells then doubled plating two
runs. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 5 times.

Pat Neshek(2-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Neshek got help from Joe Nathan who was credited with his 35th save. Casey
Janssen(5-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.

Saul Rivera shut Wall St down as the Toronto Scrub AL1 topped the Wall St
Millionaires by a score of 8 to 6 at Wrigley Field.

Toronto had 5 runs cross the plate in the 6th inning when they had 5 base
hits. The critical plate appearance was by Kevin Kouzmanoff who quieted the
crowd when he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 4th of the season).
Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still
not enough for Wall St to come away with the victory.

The victory was credited to Jeff Suppan(5-14) who went 6 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 6 runs. Suppan got help from Rivera who earned his 2nd save. John
Smoltz(7-12) was hit with the loss.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it
was nothing.' Suppan said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put
the ball where I wanted it.'

the Boston Stranglers 6 to 1.

Yardley jumped on top of Boston in the top of the 5th inning when they tallied
3 runs on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Mark Teixeira who
helped quiet the crowd when he doubled which was good for two runs. Yardley
rapped out 10 hits for the night.

The victory went to Shields(10-7) who went the distance allowing 1 run. C.C.
Sabathia(9-11) was tagged with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits
and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Shields. 'I had
