Stranglers beat the Toronto Scrub AL1 8 to 3.

The loss was charged to Chris Ray(2-3) in relief. Vazquez, when asked about
his 10 strikeout performance noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I
get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team? But, on the other hand,
since we won it feels great!'

Sea Isle had the game winning rally in the top of the 8th inning when they
tallied 5 runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Matt Kemp who deflated
the mood of the partisan fans when he lost the ball over the fence for three
runs (his 13th of the season). Sea Isle totaled 9 on the night.

The winning pitcher was Peavy(18-2) who allowed 1 run for the game. Luis
Vizcaino(2-2) absorbed the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 1 hit

WEB GEMS- Top 1st: Jorge Posada blocked the plate, saving a run!

Justin Morneau smacked 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Detroit 40's defeated
the reeling Oakland Scrub AL2 by a score of 10 to 2 at Comerica Park.

It seemed that Oakland pitching was serving up softballs for Morneau to hit.
He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st inning, doubled which was good for
two runs in the 2nd inning and lofted a three-run bomb (his 30th of the
season) in the 4th inning. Detroit had 12 hits for the game and Oakland had
9.

Gil Meche(11-9) got the win allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Chad
Gaudin(5-18) was hit with the loss. 'I just got in the box, looked for a
pitch and swung,' Morneau said. 'That's it'
