Sea Isle had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. Nyjer Morgan led off and started the attack as he reached on an error. Jeff Keppinger stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk. Chase Utley then grounded into a double play. Willie Harris followed and he tripled plating a run. Aaron Rowand came to the plate and doubled scoring the final run of the inning. The Binghamton bats were silent in the bottom of the 9th. The victory went to Russ Springer(3-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Springer got relief help from Bobby Jenks who gained credit for his 22nd save. Trevor Hoffman(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work. Alex Rios was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He smacked a single which scored a run in the 1st inning, blasted a two-run home run (his 16th of the season) in the 2nd inning and doubled in the 4th inning. Yardley kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd inning with 6 runs on 4 hits and the 6th inning when they had 5 runs on 5 hits. Yardley simply wore out the Colorado pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings. The win was credited to Justin Speier(7-2) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
