In a great finish the Sea Isle SeaGulls came back in the top of the ninth and
held on to win over the Binghamton Brawlers by a score of 4 to 3 at Shea
Stadium.

Sea Isle had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs
using 2 hits. Nyjer Morgan led off and started the attack as he reached on
an error. Jeff Keppinger stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk.
Chase Utley then grounded into a double play. Willie Harris followed and he
tripled plating a run. Aaron Rowand came to the plate and doubled scoring
the final run of the inning. The Binghamton bats were silent in the bottom
of the 9th.

The victory went to Russ Springer(3-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.
Springer got relief help from Bobby Jenks who gained credit for his 22nd
save. Trevor Hoffman(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief. He was pinned with
the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Springer, 'was if we had
played it at home.'

In a lop-sided win the Yardley Oaks ripped the Colorado Scrub NL2 by a 16 to 7
count.

Alex Rios was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine
day at their team's expense. He smacked a single which scored a run in the
1st inning, blasted a two-run home run (his 16th of the season) in the 2nd
inning and doubled in the 4th inning. Yardley kept the scorekeepers busy in
the 2nd inning with 6 runs on 4 hits and the 6th inning when they had 5 runs
on 5 hits. Yardley simply wore out the Colorado pitching staff, scoring in 6
different innings.

The win was credited to Justin Speier(7-2) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. The losing pitcher was Kevin Millwood(6-14).
