Third baseman Alex Rodriguez smacked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the seemingly unstoppable Yardley Oaks destroyed the Colorado Scrub NL2 by a score of 13 to 3 at Coors Field. Rodriguez was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He lined a base-hit in the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, ripped a solo home run in the 5th inning, delivered a solo blast (his 40th of the season) in the 7th inning and ripped a base-knock in the 9th inning. The Yardley offense man-handled the Colorado pitching staff as they scored in 8 of the 9 innings. James Shields(12-9) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Julian Tavarez(7-9) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. Yardley won for the 7th straight time. Clint Hurdle was upset but philosophical about the loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a roll. This was one of those times.'
