WEB GEMS- Bot 4th: Alex Rios robbed Tony Clark of a Homerun!

Third baseman Alex Rodriguez smacked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the
seemingly unstoppable Yardley Oaks destroyed the Colorado Scrub NL2 by a
score of 13 to 3 at Coors Field.

Rodriguez was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He lined a base-hit in the
1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, ripped a solo home run in the 5th
inning, delivered a solo blast (his 40th of the season) in the 7th inning and
ripped a base-knock in the 9th inning. The Yardley offense man-handled the
Colorado pitching staff as they scored in 8 of the 9 innings.

James Shields(12-9) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Julian
Tavarez(7-9) was the loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up
9 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Yardley won for the 7th straight time. Clint Hurdle was upset but
philosophical about the loss. 'Sometimes you run into a team that's on a
roll. This was one of those times.'

10 inning evening game. The Cherry Hill Maulers scored 5 runs for the
win.

Neither team scored in the first nine innings. Cherry Hill came out on top in

Slam homerun (his 25th of the season). Cherry Hill and Detroit each finished
the night with 6 hits.

Jonathan Papelbon(3-2) was hit with the loss in relief. The Cherry Hill
