In a thriller the phenomenal Sea Isle SeaGulls staged a dramatic comeback then
held on to win over the Detroit 40's by a score of 8 to 7 at Comerica
Park.

Sea Isle came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning with 2
runs. After two were out Chipper Jones keyed the rally when he drew a walk.
Harris stole second with some aggressive base running. Aaron Rowand then
smashed a two-run homer (his 18th of the season). Although they lost,
Detroit did out-hit Sea Isle 15 to 10.

The victory was credited to Billy Wagner(3-3) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Bobby Jenks recorded the save, his 23rd. Jonathan Papelbon(3-3)
suffered the loss in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 1 hit in 1 inning.

Jim Tracy was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at
bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there?
You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what
makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over
'til its over.'
