First baseman James Loney went yard and had 4 RBI at PNC Park where the Sea
Isle SeaGulls beat the Pinehurst Pin Oaks by the score of 10 to 4.
 
Ben Sheets(14-4) had a steady outing.  He was reached for 10 hits and 1 walk
in 6 and 1/3 innings.  Sea Isle totaled 11 on the night.  The loss was
charged to Matt Guerrier(4-5) in relief.  He was unable to control the Sea
Isle offense and allowed 6 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Metrodome as the Binghamton Brawlers beat the Minnesota SnowBirds by the
count of 3 to 0.
 
Binghamton took the lead for good in the top of the 5th inning scoring a
single run using 2 hits.  Binghamton banged out 8 on the night.  
 
Orlando Hernandez(7-8) allowed no runs in 8 innings, and picked up the
victory. Trevor Hoffman got the save, his 34th.  Jake Westbrook(5-9) was
given the loss.  He allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 7 and 1/3 innings.  
 
The Binghamton ballclub's record now stands at 70-79.  Minnesota has a record
of 76-73 after the loss.

14,466 fans were treated to a fine game at Dolphins Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Detroit 40's won by the slimmest
of margins, 4 to 3.
 
Detroit won the game with a run in the top of the 8th inning.  After an out
was recorded, Justin Morneau reached on an error.  Carlos Pena came next and
he banged out a single.  Dan Uggla then drew a walk to load the bases.  Matt
Lindstrom then had one get away for a wild pitch scoring the run.  Detroit
took care of Sunshine State with no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.  
 
Zack Greinke(4-4) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Jonathan
Papelbon gained credit for his 40th save.  Lindstrom(4-2) suffered the loss
in relief.  He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run in
his 2 innings of work.

The Cherry Hill Maulers defeated the Atlanta Prohibitioners by a score of 7 to
4 at US Cellular Field.
 
Cherry Hill brought 2 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning.  That was all
the offense they were to need.  The Atlanta offense proved no trouble in the
9th.  
 
The win went to Scott Baker(11-4) who allowed 4 runs in 6 innings. Baker got
help from Joe Nathan who was credited with his 47th save.  The losing pitcher
was Tim Hudson(10-15).  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11
hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.  
 
With this win, Cherry Hill has a division leading 97-52 record.  They have
been 7-3 lately.  With the loss, Atlanta has a record of 4-6 lately, 71-78
overall.

The Boston Stranglers defeated the Toronto Scrub AL1 by a score of 4 to 1 at
Rogers Centre.
 
Jesse Litsch(6-10) pitched a solid game.  He went 6 innings allowing 3 hits
and 2 walks.  Boston out-hit Toronto for the game, 7 hits to 4.  
 
Litsch got relief help from Kevin Gregg who gained credit for his 34th save.
Nate Robertson(6-20) was the loser.  Boston continued their winnings ways
improving their record to 83-70.  They are 8-2 in their last ten games.  With
the loss, the Toronto ballclub's record is 54-96, worst in the division.

Shawn Hill went 7 strong innings at Citizen's Bank Park as the Philadelphia
Phranks embarrassed the pathetic Colorado Scrub NL2 by the lopsided score of
10 to 0.
 
It was a good day for Philadelphia thanks to David Wright.  He hit a single in
the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 28th of the
season) in the 4th inning and doubled scoring two baserunners in the 7th
inning.  Philadelphia had 15 hits overall, while Colorado had 5.
 
Hill(13-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 7 innings. Matt Morris(4-21) was
hit with the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 3 and 1/3 innings of work.

Center fielder Nate McLouth had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Oakland Scrub AL2
defeated the Washington Scrub NL1 6 to 4 at RFK STADIUM.
 
Oakland came up with 3 runs in the top of the 7th inning with the help of 4
hits.  Ty Wigginton opened up the inning nicely when he hit a single.  Mike
Fontenot came to the plate and delivered a base-hit.  Jose Lopez then drew a
walk to load the bases.  Craig Biggio stepped in and he slapped a single
bringing in a run.  Biggio took second on the throw.  Brendan Ryan stepped
into the box and hit a deep fly plating one more runner.  McLouth added his
contribution to the rally and delivered a one-base hit scoring the final run
of the inning.  Oakland won despite being out-hit by Washington 13 hits to
10.  
 
The win was credited to Vinnie Chulk(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing
1 run. Oscar Villarreal earned his 1st save.  Jorge Sosa(7-9) was tagged with
the loss.
