Cherry Hill brought 2 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning. That was all the offense they were to need. The Atlanta offense proved no trouble in the 9th. The win went to Scott Baker(11-4) who allowed 4 runs in 6 innings. Baker got help from Joe Nathan who was credited with his 47th save. The losing pitcher was Tim Hudson(10-15). He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings. With this win, Cherry Hill has a division leading 97-52 record. They have been 7-3 lately. Mike Fontenot came to the plate and delivered a base-hit. Jose Lopez then drew a walk to load the bases. Craig Biggio stepped in and he slapped a single bringing in a run. Biggio took second on the throw. Brendan Ryan stepped into the box and hit a deep fly plating one more runner. McLouth added his contribution to the rally and delivered a one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Oakland won despite being out-hit by Washington 13 hits to 10. The win was credited to Vinnie Chulk(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run. Oscar Villarreal earned his 1st save. Jorge Sosa(7-9) was tagged with the loss.
