In a game for the baseball purist, Ian Snell(10-18) and Jeff Francis(16-3)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Binghamton Brawlers finally emerged
victorious over Philadelphia Phranks, 2 to 1.

Binghamton scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning when they had 3 base hits. That
early scoring was all that Snell needed. Philadelphia threatened in the 9th
but their rally came up short.

Trevor Hoffman was credited with his 35th save.

Colorado Scrub NL2 rallied to top Pinehurst Pin Oaks by the score of 5 to
4.

Colorado scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning with 2

up,' Clark said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans - they were with us the
whole way.'

Garret Anderson had 2 base hits at Comerica Park as the Detroit 40's won in
dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Yardley Oaks by the count of 4 to
3.

Detroit erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 4 runners
on 2 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Ramon Castro who made the
crowd come alive when he launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand
Slam homerun (his 6th of the season). Detroit managed 8 in their victory.

Zack Greinke(5-4) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Francisco Rodriguez(1-7) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an
inning giving up 2 hits and 2 walks.

Greinke and Anderson were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the
great come from behind victory. As Jim Leyland noted, 'A win like this one
can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans,
the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
