First baseman Mark Teixeira smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Yankee Stadium
where the Yardley Oaks beat the Detroit 40's by the score of 7 to 6.

The Yardley fans enjoyed the offense provided by Teixeira. He bombed a
two-run dinger in the 1st inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence
(his 2nd of the season) in the 5th inning. Yardley had 7 hits for the night.

The win was credited to Kevin Slowey(1-1) who went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing
6 runs. Joe Nathan recorded his 3rd save. Zack Greinke(0-1) was the losing
pitcher. He pitched 2/3 of an inning allowing 2 hits and no walks.

'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Joe Girardi said after the game. 'Slowey did not have command
of his pitches most of the night, but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'

WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Eric Hinske robbed Dioner Navarro of an extra base hit.

Magglio Ordonez smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Cherry Hill Maulers
ballclub embarrassed the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by the count of 15 to 4.

Ordonez provided much of the offense. He lined a base-hit in the 1st inning,
cracked a two-run shot in the 2nd inning, smashed a two-run homer (his 2nd of
the season) in the 7th inning and stroked a single in the 9th inning. Cherry
Hill bats were very productive in the 2nd inning when they had 5 runs on 4
hits and the 4th inning when they had 4 runs on 3 hits. Cherry Hill out-hit
Toronto for the game, 17 hits to 12.

The winning pitcher was John Lackey(1-1) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Jon Garland(0-1) was tagged with the loss. 'I was in my hotel room
the other night, working on my swing and made some adjustments,' Ordonez
said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you out certain ways,
