46,601 fans watched an exciting game at Metrodome. The Minnesota SnowBirds
topped the Boston Stranglers by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

Rafael Perez(2-0) was dominant in relief. He didn't allow much, just 2 hits
and 1 walk in 4 innings and racked up 7 strikeouts improving his ERA from
1.80 to 1.00. Boston threatened in the 9th but Minnesota was able to put
down the rally.

Perez was helped out by Mariano Rivera who recorded his 4th save. Jon
Lester(1-2) was the loser. 'You have to give Boston credit, they fought us
tough to the end' Ron Gardenhire said. 'It could have gone either way, but
I'm glad we pulled out the victory.'

WEB GEMS- Top 10th: Garrett Atkins robbed Khalil Greene of a base hit.

21,040 fans were treated to a fine game at Shea Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Colorado Scrub NL 2 were
certainly pleased to stop the bleeding as their 5 game losing streak was
finally halted and won by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Colorado won the
game in the 10th inning. Edwin Encarnacion lined a one-base hit. Luke Scott
next to the plate and he laced a base-knock. Nick Swisher then drew a walk
to load the bases. Todd Helton followed and he hit a sacrifice fly. One out
later, Ramon Castro stepped up to the plate and he was walked intentionally
to load the bases. Colorado won despite being out-hit by Binghamton 11 hits
to 8.

The win was credited to Ryan Speier(1-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 1
run. Matt Lindstrom recorded the save, his 2nd. Chad Qualls(0-1) was charged
with the loss in relief.

'It felt really nice to get this win,' Speier said. 'I kind of dictated the
