The Cherry Hill Maulers had an easy time of it at Coors Field defeating the
Colorado Scrub NL 2 in 10 innings by a score of 9 to 4.
 
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Cherry Hill came out the
victor in the 10th inning.  The highlight belonged to Aubrey Huff who
silenced the stadium when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 2nd of the season).
For the game Cherry Hill out-hit Colorado 14 to 9.  
 
The winning pitcher was Francisco Rodriguez(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 and
1/3 innings. Glendon Rusch(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.  He pitched 3
and 1/3 innings and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.

In a tight game it was the Minnesota SnowBirds 4, the Pinehurst PinOaks 2 at
Metrodome.
 
Minnesota tallied 3 runs in the 6th inning when they had 3 base hits.  Troy
Glaus led off and he drew a walk.  Carlos Pena came next and he banged out a
single.  Two outs later B.J. Upton came to the plate and doubled.  Orlando
Cabrera stepped in and he doubled.  Placido Polanco was the next batter, but
he struck out.  Minnesota managed 8 hits in their victory.  
 
Matt Garza(1-0) got the win allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Garza was
helped out by Mariano Rivera who recorded his 1st save.  Jesse Litsch(0-1)
was tagged with the loss.  He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Chad Billingsley reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts as the Philadelphia
Phranks defeated the Oakland Scrub AL 2 by the score of 4 to 2 at Citizen's
Bank Park.
 
Billingsley(1-0) contributed a very nicely pitched game.  He surrendered only
6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings and gave up 2 homeruns.  Philadelphia and
Oakland each finished the night with 6 hits.  
 
Greg Maddux(0-1) was charged with the loss.  Billingsley was pleased with his
performance.  He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches.  Just as important, my
location was right on.  The fans really got into the game too - that always
helps me.  Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'

Lance Berkman had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Rogers Centre as the Yardley Oaks beat
the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by the count of 11 to 3.
 
Yardley took the lead for keeps in the top of the 3rd inning when they tallied
3 runs on 3 hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Gavin
Floyd(1-0) and Yardley.  That was all the run support Floyd required.
Yardley finished with 16 hits while Toronto ended up with 8.  
 
Bronson Arroyo(0-1) was tagged with the loss.  Yardley scored big getting 6
runs off him in 5 and 2/3 innings.

One run was the difference at Dolphins Stadium as the Washington Scrub NL 1
defeated the Sunshine State Stalkers in 12 innings 3 to 2.
 
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings.  Washington won the hard fought
contest in the 12th inning.  After an out was recorded, Kevin Kouzmanoff
laced a base-knock.  Gabe Gross stepped into the batter's box and he doubled.
Fred Lewis then was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Doug
Mientkiewicz was up next and he hit a deep fly.  Bobby Crosby came to the
plate and was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Washington rapped out
9 hits for the night.  
 
The win was credited to Dennis Sarfate(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings
allowing no runs. Mike Adams(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.  He allowed 1
run and 2 hits in 1 and 1/3 innings.

In a close game it was the Atlanta Prohibitioners 5, the Sea Isle Seagulls 3
at PNC Park.
 
Atlanta came up with the deciding runs in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs on 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Curtis Granderson began the
Atlanta spurt when he doubled.  After another out, Brandon Phillips stepped
in and he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 1st of the
season).  Hanley Ramirez was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out.
Atlanta took care of Sea Isle with no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
 
Brandon Morrow(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 1/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Brian Fuentes recorded his 2nd save.  Jake Peavy(0-1) was
charged with the loss.

The Wall St Millionaires cruised to a 8 to 3 victory over the Binghamton
Brawlers at Shea Stadium.
 
In the top of the 6th inning Wall St scored 4 runs when they had 4 base hits.
The key at-bat was by Pablo Sandoval who disappointed the partisan crowd when
he lost the ball over the fence for three runs (his 1st of the season).  Wall
St and Binghamton each finished the night with 10 hits.  
 
James Shields(1-0) went 8 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Kyle
Lohse(0-1) was the loser.  He allowed 4 homeruns in 5 and 2/3 innings of
work.
