At Rogers Centre the Detroit 40's outscored the Toronto Scrub AL 1 8 to
5.
 
Detroit tallied 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning when they had 3 base hits.
The key offensive moment was provided by Adrian Beltre who quieted the crowd
when he cracked a two-run shot (his 3rd of the season).  For the game Detroit
out-hit Toronto 13 to 8.  
 
The victory went to A.J. Burnett(3-1) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing 5
runs. Burnett got help from Jonathan Papelbon who earned his 2nd save.  Manny
Parra(0-2) absorbed the loss in relief.

Casey Blake left the yard and had 5 RBI and Ricky Nolasco allowed 3 hits while
blanking Colorado as the Atlanta Prohibitioners ballclub embarrassed the
Colorado Scrub NL 2 by the count of 13 to 0.
 
Blake had a big day at the plate.  He doubled bringing in two baserunners in
the 3rd inning and belted a three-run homer (his 1st of the season) in the
4th inning.  Atlanta had 16 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Nolasco(3-0) went the distance for the shutout. Cha Seung Baek(0-2) was
charged with the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in 2 and
2/3 innings.  
 
'Nolasco was the man today,' Bobby Cox said.  'He had just about every pitch
working.'

Right fielder Jose Guillen had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Doug Davis racked up
an impressive total of 11 strikeouts as the Oakland Scrub AL 2 topped the
Boston Stranglers by a score of 4 to 2 at Fenway Park.
 
Davis(1-0) gave Oakland a solid outing.  He didn't allow much, just 6 hits and
2 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.  Oakland out-hit Boston for the game, 9 hits to
6.  
 
Tony Pena got the save, his 1st.  Jon Lester(0-4) took the loss.  Terry
Francona was impressed with Davis and his 11 strikeouts.  'It's tough to
generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'
