Evan Longoria launched 2 homeruns as the Pinehurst PinOaks outscored the
Minnesota SnowBirds 3 to 2.

It was a good day for Pinehurst thanks to Longoria. He ripped a solo home run
in the 2nd inning, lined a one-base hit in the 4th inning and smashed a
solo-shot out of the park (his 5th of the season) in the 6th inning.
Minnesota threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Mike Mussina(1-2) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Jim
Johnson earned his 4th save. Matt Garza(2-1) was given the loss. Despite
losing, he struckout 10 Pinehurst batters in 7 and 2/3 innings.

Ron Gardenhire was subdued when questioned after the game, 'Sure, this kind of
loss takes a while to get over, but heck, we're all professionals. We've
been through this many times - it's the nature of the game. We'll be fine -
as for me - I'll be ready to go again tomorrow!'
