Atlanta had 11 hits for the night. Brandon Morrow(3-1) allowed 1 run in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Jared Burton(0-1) took the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. Binghamton fell behind quickly as the Colorado offense came through in the first inning plating an isolated run. Colorado totaled 13 hits on the night. The win went to Wakefield(1-1) who allowed 1 run in the game. Ryan Dempster(0-3) absorbed the loss. Clint Hurdle was very impressed with his pitcher, Wakefield, 'He had unusually good pitch placement tonight. Ryan Braun followed, but he was set down on strikes. Vladimir Guerrero dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Philadelphia had 8 hits for the game and Sunshine State had 3. Tim Lincecum(2-3) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. David Bush(2-1) was charged with the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 1 walk in 6 and 1/3 innings.
