Toronto had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits. After two were out Lastings Milledge got things rolling when he smacked a single. Taylor Teagarden came next and he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 7th of the season) resulting in a mighty exciting win for Toronto and the 40,533 home town fans in attendance. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all. The winning pitcher was Wil Ledezma(3-2) who allowed 2 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Jonathan Papelbon(1-2) took the loss in relief. He was unable to retire a batter giving up 1 hit and no walks. Cito Gaston was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, Jim Leyland, feels right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one of these!'
