Aaron Cook completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Detroit 40's staged a dramatic comeback over the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 5 to 4 at Comerica Park. Detroit erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs on 3 hits. Jason Bay was the sparkplug when he cracked a solo homerun (his 3rd of the season). After another out, Michael Young was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Adrian Beltre then lined a single. Cody Ross stepped in and he laced a base-hit. Mike Lowell stepped into the box and drew a walk to load the bases. Manny Parra then threw a wild pitch. Detroit rapped out 15 hits for the night. Cook(2-2), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Parra(0-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in 2/3 of an inning. Jim Leyland was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on. What a sweet win!'
