Boston made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. The win was credited to Jered Weaver*(3-3) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 5 runs. After another out, Alex Rodriguez came to the plate and delivered a single giving Yardley the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Yardley had 9 hits for the night. The victory went to Matt Thornton(2-2) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs. Brian Wilson(1-4) suffered the loss in relief. The winning ways continue for Yardley. Brian Fuentes earned the save, his 13th. Bronson Arroyo(2-4) was charged with the loss. The winning ways continue for Atlanta. They now have a record of 8-2 in recent days. With the loss, the Toronto ballclub's record is 17-23, worst in the division.
