Carlos Ruiz then doubled resulting in an exciting win for Binghamton and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Binghamton had 11 hits for the game and Philadelphia had 7. Sea Isle set the tone of the game in the first inning plating an isolated run on 3 hits. Toronto threatened in the 9th but Sea Isle was able to put down the rally. The win was credited to Paul Maholm(10-1) who went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs. Maholm was helped out by Kerry Wood who recorded his 21st save. Jon Garland(1-8) took the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Wall St finished with 12 hits while Colorado ended up with 9. Wellemeyer got help from Taylor Buchholz who earned his 6th save. Zach Duke(3-10) was the losing pitcher. The Wall St ballclub's record now stands at 40-25. Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Colorado is 2-8 of late and now has an overall record of 17-51, worst in the division. The Atlanta fans enjoyed the offense provided by Blake. He clubbed a three-run home run (his 19th of the season) in the 3rd inning, slapped a base-hit which plated a run in the 4th inning and lined a single in the 6th inning. Atlanta totaled 14 hits on the night. The victory went to Nolasco(10-4) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. Carlos Zambrano(6-4) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 5 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 1/3 innings. With this win, Atlanta has a division leading 42-30 record. They have been 5-5 lately. Sunshine State has a record of 34-34 after the loss.
