Garret Anderson had 2 base hits at Fenway Park where the Boston Stranglers
beat the Minnesota SnowBirds 8 to 3.
 
In the bottom of the 3rd inning Boston went on top for good plating an
isolated run.  Minnesota was out-hit by Boston, 11 hits to 5.  
 
Jon Lester(4-6) got the win allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Jered
Weaver*(5-5) was given the loss.  He allowed Boston 6 runs in 5 innings of
work.

Second baseman Mark Ellis had 2 base hits as the Washington Scrub NL 1 beat
the Cherry Hill Maulers by a score of 6 to 5.
 
Cherry Hill was unable to claim the lead after Washington went ahead in the
5th inning plating an isolated run.  After two outs Ellis smacked a single.
Scott Hairston next to the plate and he reached on an error.  Jim Edmonds
then was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Kevin Kouzmanoff followed
and he drew a walk.  Gabe Gross struck out, unable to help the rally.  Cherry
Hill threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.  
 
The win went to Braden Looper(4-5) who allowed 4 runs in 8 innings. Francisco
Cordero gained credit for his 11th save.  Armando Galarraga(8-3) was hit with
the loss.  He surrendered 2 runs and 3 hits in 4 and 2/3 innings.  
 
'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed.  Man alive, things were getting awfully
grim,' noted Manny Acta.  'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together
and turn things around!'

The Oakland Scrub AL 2 ended a long winless drought and defeated the Detroit
40's by a score of 5 to 2 at Comerica Park.
 
Oakland went ahead for good in the 2nd inning when they scored 2 runs on 3
hits.  Oakland had 11 hits overall, while Detroit had 6.  
 
The victory went to Greg Smith(5-6) who went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs.
George Sherrill recorded his 7th save.  A.J. Burnett(8-7) was tagged with the
loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 2 walks in
6 and 2/3 innings.

In a good matchup it was the Pinehurst PinOaks 6, the Yardley Oaks 4 in 10
innings at Yankee Stadium.
 
The score was tied at 4 after nine.  Pinehurst won it in the 10th inning.
Jacoby Ellsbury led off and started the attack as he drew a walk.  Joba
Chamberlain then let loose a wild pitch.  After an out was recorded, Ichiro
Suzuki came to the plate and hit a single.  Evan Longoria got his chance to
keep things going, but he went down on strikes.  Manny Ramirez came to the
plate and lined a one-base hit.  Ryan Howard kept the inning going and
slapped a single.  Derek Jeter came next and he was hit by a pitch.
Pinehurst totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.  
 
Roy Corcoran(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Chamberlain(5-2) was charged with the loss in relief.  Pinehurst
scored big getting 4 runs off him in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Jair Jurrjens was on top of his game, blanking Binghamton on just 3 hits and
Alexei Ramirez had 2 base hits at Shea Stadium as the Philadelphia Phranks
beat the Binghamton Brawlers by the count of 6 to 0.
 
Jurrjens(4-4) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Binghamton offense.
He allowed only 3 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings.  Jurrjens struckout 12
Binghamton batters seeing his ERA drop from 4.88 to 4.33.  Philadelphia
finished with 10 hits in the victory.  
 
Kyle Lohse(4-7) was charged with the loss.  He pitched 7 innings giving up 7
hits and 2 walks. Jurrjens, when asked about his 12 strikeout performance
noted, 'The important thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what
good does it do our team? But, on the other hand, since we won it feels
great!'

The Sea Isle Seagulls defeated the floundering Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score
of 8 to 5 at Rogers Centre.
 
Sea Isle won the game with a rally in the 8th inning scoring 3 runs utilizing
4 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Josh Hamilton started the scoring
when he blasted a solo shot (his 8th of the season).  Conor Jackson stepped
up to the plate and he doubled.  Alfonso Soriano then smashed a two-run homer
(his 11th of the season).  Ryan Spilborghs was up next and he doubled.
Ronnie Belliard followed, but he was set down on strikes.  J.J. Hardy was a
strikeout victim, unable to help out.  Kerry Wood earned the save with a
perfect ninth, his 22nd save.  
 
Chan Ho Park(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3
innings. Jon Rauch(4-4) was given the loss in relief.  He allowed Sea Isle 5
runs in 3 innings of work.

Taylor Buchholz was the victor at Wrigley Field where the Wall St Millionaires
beat the reeling Colorado Scrub NL 2 5 to 4.
 
Buchholz(5-0) was brilliant in relief and registered the victory.  No one got
on base in his perfect 2 and 1/3 innings.  Wall St had a total of 8 hits for
the game.  
 
The loss was charged to Tim Wakefield(1-7).  He served up 4 homeruns in his 7
and 2/3 innings.  With this win, Wall St has a 41-25 record.  They have been
7-3 lately.  Clint Hurdle was pretty down after the loss.  'We've really been
sputtering along lately, something like 2-8 in the last week or two.  That
won't get it done.'

In a lop-sided win the Atlanta Prohibitioners ripped the Sunshine State
Stalkers by a 9 to 2 count.
 
Derek Lowe(3-7) had a solid outing for Atlanta. He went 6 and 2/3 innings
surrendering 4 hits and 3 walks.  Lowe struckout 7 Sunshine State batters
lowering his ERA from 3.99 to 3.71.  Atlanta had 10 hits for the afternoon.
 
Hiroki Kuroda(8-6) was the loser.  He got hit hard, allowing 6 hits and 2
walks in 2 and 1/3 innings.
