He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 7 hits and no walks in 8 and 2/3 innings lowering his ERA to 3.47. Atlanta had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Manny Corpas gained credit for his 3rd save. The losing pitcher was Johnson. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered just 4 hits and 1 walk. Bobby Cox was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the press box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
