In a two run game the Cherry Hill Maulers got by the Detroit 40's by the score
of 4 to 2.

In the top of the 6th inning Cherry Hill scored 2 runs. The crucial at-bat
was provided by Vernon Wells who deflated the crowd as he popped a two-run
clout over the fence (his 13th of the season). Cherry Hill had only 6 hits
for the game.

The victory was credited to C.C. Sabathia(9-4) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. Francisco Rodriguez recorded the save, his 23rd. Aaron Cook(6-5) was
the losing pitcher. He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 6 hits
and 1 walk in 9 innings.

'He gutted it out' Ozzie Guillen said of Sabathia. 'I was very impressed by
his tenacity.'
