WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Orlando Hudson robbed Milton Bradley of a base hit.

Hiroki Kuroda went the distance as the Sunshine State Stalkers defeated the
Binghamton Brawlers by the score of 3 to 1 at Dolphins Stadium.

Sunshine State scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the help of
3 hits. Kevin Youkilis led off and started the attack as he hit a single.
Ryan Theriot stepped up next and he banged out a single. John Maine then
uncorked a pitch that was ruled a passed ball. Chris Iannetta stepped in and
he doubled. After an out was recorded, Adam Dunn came up and he drew a walk.
Milton Bradley struck out, unable to help the rally. The early run support
proved sufficient for Kuroda(11-8) and Sunshine State. That was all the run
support Kuroda required. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to
score.

Maine(4-4) was tagged with the loss. The Sunshine State ballclub's record now
stands at 53-43. With the loss, Binghamton has a record of 5-5 lately, 39-54
overall.

At Wrigley Field the Washington Scrub NL 1 outscored the Wall St Millionaires
5 to 2.

Washington started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of
the first scoring 2 runners on 1 hit. The key offensive moment was provided
by Corey Hart who quieted the home crowd when he cleared the fences for a
two-run home run (his 10th of the season). Both teams ended up with 5 hits
on the night.

Edwin Jackson(5-6) allowed 2 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Jackson got relief help from Francisco Cordero who gained credit for his 14th
save. Edinson Volquez(9-6) was charged with the loss. Despite losing, he
struckout 11 Washington batters in 8 innings.
