Philadelphia went ahead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning with 2 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Ramirez started the scoring when he blasted a solo shot. Shane Victorino next to the plate and he smacked a single. Stephen Drew then drew a walk. Ryan Braun followed and he delivered a one-base hit. Vladimir Guerrero stepped into the box and grounded into a double play. The early run support proved sufficient for Chad Billingsley(10-6) and Philadelphia. That was all the run support Billingsley required. Philadelphia ended up with 12 hits for the game while Binghamton had 5. Hong-Chih Kuo got the save, his 2nd. Kyle Lohse(4-13) was charged with the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 10 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings. Carlos Beltran enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He stroked a one-base hit in the 1st inning, lofted a three-run bomb (his 22nd of the season) in the 3rd inning and laced a single in the 8th inning. Wall St provided plenty of action in the 4th inning with 5 runs on 4 hits and the 8th inning with 6 runs on 6 hits. Wall St ended up with 18 hits for the game while Sea Isle had 10. The losing pitcher was Jake Peavy(7-6). He was knocked around by Wall St, allowing 7 hits and 4 walks in 3 innings. Francisco Cordero(5-7) was the losing pitcher in relief. He struggled with his control issuing 6 walks in 2 innings.
