C.C. Sabathia reeled off a total of 11 strikeouts at US Cellular Field where
the Cherry Hill Maulers beat the ice-cold Oakland Scrub AL 2 by the score of
7 to 4.

Sabathia(15-5) pitched a fine game. He went 8 innings surrendering 7 hits and
1 walk and surrendered 3 homeruns. Cherry Hill ended up with 11 hits for the
game while Oakland had 8.

Sabathia got relief help from Francisco Rodriguez who gained credit for his
34th save. Javier Vazquez(1-13) was given the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 4
and 2/3 innings of work.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Sabathia - except Oakland. Bob
Geren lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off
balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun
game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'

Alexei Ramirez ripped 2 homeruns as the Philadelphia Phranks beat the
Binghamton Brawlers by a score of 6 to 1.

Philadelphia went ahead for good in the bottom of the 3rd inning with 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Ramirez started the
scoring when he blasted a solo shot. Shane Victorino next to the plate and
he smacked a single. Stephen Drew then drew a walk. Ryan Braun followed and
he delivered a one-base hit. Vladimir Guerrero stepped into the box and
grounded into a double play. The early run support proved sufficient for

Billingsley required. Philadelphia ended up with 12 hits for the game while
Binghamton had 5.

Hong-Chih Kuo got the save, his 2nd. Kyle Lohse(4-13) was charged with the
loss. He allowed 5 runs and 10 hits in 7 and 2/3 innings.
