Hanley Ramirez had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Atlanta Prohibitioners destroyed
the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 17 to 3 at Turner Field.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Ramirez. He hit a bases-empty home run (his 21st of the season)
in the 1st inning, laced a base-hit which scored a run in the 3rd inning,
banged out a single plating a run in the 8th inning and doubled bringing in a
run in the 8th inning. Atlanta bats were very productive in the 8th inning
when they had 11 runs on 10 hits. Atlanta had 22 hits overall, while Toronto
had 7.

The victory went to Chris Volstad(3-1) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Andy Sonnanstine(6-9) was the loser. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 6 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

The Sunshine State Stalkers came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil
the anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 9 to
7.

Sunshine State came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning as
they scored 5 runs on 3 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Dan Uggla who deflated the crowd as he doubled clearing all three ducks off
the pond. Sunshine State had 10 hits for the night while Washington had 7.

Carlos Marmol(5-5) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Francisco Cordero(5-6) was hit with the loss in relief. He was knocked
around, surrendering 5 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.

Manny Acta was understandably not very talkative after his team's tough loss.
He quickly showered and changed and when asked about the game had a terse,
yet polite response, 'Hey fellows, that game was a heart-breaker to lose.
Our guys gave it their all and played well - fate just wasn't smilin' on us
tonight'
