In the bottom of the 7th inning Washington went on top for good with 2 runs. After an out was recorded, Corey Hart got things rolling when he drew a walk. After another out, Kouzmanoff came to the plate and blasted a two-run home run (his 11th of the season). Atlanta was set down quietly in the 9th. Francisco Cordero(6-7) allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Derek Lowe(6-11) took the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings. Toronto won it in the 10th inning. Jack Cust led off and keyed the rally when he banged out a single, and an error was also committed. Paul Konerko stepped up to the plate and he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 17th of the season). Two outs later Jed Lowrie stepped up to the plate and he slapped a one-base hit. Kevin Millar followed, but he was set down on strikes. Toronto and Oakland each finished the night with 11 hits. Jon Rauch(6-6) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. George Sherrill(2-9) took the loss in relief. He gave up 4 hits and 1 walk in 2 innings.
