fine pitching duel at Citizen's Bank Park. The Atlanta Prohibitioners
eventually emerged as victors over the Philadelphia Phranks by the score of 2
to 0.

Atlanta jumped on top to stay in the top of the 3rd inning plating an isolated
run on 2 hits. That early run support was enough for Volstad and Atlanta.
Volstad got help from Brian Fuentes who pitched a perfect ninth and was
credited with his 21st save.

'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Volstad said,
'this was one of those times.'

unable to push the needed runs across.

not very effective, surrendering 5 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.

Jim Thome rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Colorado Scrub NL 2 rallied
impressively to win in dramatic style over Washington Scrub NL 1, 7 to
6.

Colorado scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Thome who electrified
Coors Field when he lofted a three-run bomb (his 21st of the season).
Colorado had a total of 9 hits for the game.

Josh Rupe(2-2) got the win allowing no runs in 3 innings. Francisco
Cordero(4-5) ended up with the loss in relief. Clint Hurdle was all smiles
after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but
our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on.
What a sweet win!'
