Chris Davis blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Comerica Park where the Boston
Stranglers beat the Detroit 40's by the score of 9 to 4.
 
Davis had a big day with his bat.  He belted a three-run homer in the 5th
inning and hit a bases-empty home run (his 5th of the season) in the 9th
inning.  Boston had 15 hits for the game and Detroit had 7.  
 
The win went to Shaun Marcum(9-7) who allowed 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. The
loss was charged to Aaron Cook(6-6).  He was touched for 12 hits and 4 walks

Ryan Howard lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the Pinehurst
PinOaks defeated the Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 13 to 7 at Rogers
Centre.
 
Pinehurst came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 8th inning
as they scored 6 runs on 5 base hits.  The big moment was provided by Howard
who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he lofted a three-run
'big-fly' (his 21st of the season).  For the game Pinehurst out-hit Toronto
17 to 10.  
 
The win was credited to Ramon Ramirez(5-4) who went 4 innings allowing 1 run.
Ryan Franklin(4-3) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He gave up 3 runs in
2 innings of work.  
 
The Pinehurst ballclub's record now stands at 33-45. With the loss Toronto now
has a record of 27-50, worst in the division.

Right fielder Nick Markakis launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Metrodome
where the Minnesota SnowBirds beat the floundering Oakland Scrub AL 2 by the
score of 8 to 5.
 
Markakis had a good evening at the plate.  He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning and smashed a two-run homer (his 9th of
the season) in the 3rd inning.  Minnesota had 13 hits overall, while Oakland
had 9.  
 
Josh Beckett(4-1) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Jose Arredondo recorded his 3rd save.  Greg Maddux(4-5) was given the loss.
He served up 4 homeruns in his 5 and 2/3 innings.

Left fielder Ryan Braun hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Philadelphia
Phranks defeated the Atlanta Prohibitioners by the score of 3 to 1 at
Citizen's Bank Park.
 
Philadelphia won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2
runs using 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Joey Votto initiated the
scoring spurt when he hit a single.  Braun stepped up next and he bombed a
two-run dinger (his 21st of the season).  Ty Wigginton struck out, unable to
help the rally.  David Wright was next to the plate, but was promptly struck
out.  Philadelphia took care of Atlanta with no trouble in the 9th.
 
Hong-Chih Kuo(4-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Randy Johnson(6-5) took the loss.  With this win,
Philadelphia has a 43-34 record.  They have been 5-5 lately.  With the loss,
the Atlanta ballclub's record is 48-36.

The Wall St Millionaires tallied 4 runs in the 4th inning and defeated the
Sunshine State Stalkers by a score of 7 to 3 at Wrigley Field.
 
Wall St wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring a single
run using 2 hits.  Wall St ended up with 11 hits for the game while Sunshine
State had 8.  
 
The victory went to John Danks(6-3) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3
runs. Matt Capps earned the save, his 10th.  Scott Baker(7-7) was charged
with the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 7 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3
innings.

The Washington Scrub NL 1 batters feasted on the Colorado Scrub NL 2 pitching
at Coors Field.  The final score was a lop-sided 10 to 2.
 
Nick Blackburn(5-9) delivered a fine performance for Washington.  He went 8
innings surrendering 9 hits and 2 walks improving his ERA from 4.74 to 4.53.
Washington had 13 hits for the game and Colorado had 9.  
 
Cha Seung Baek(1-8) was the loser.  He was touched for 9 hits and 4 walks in 4
and 1/3 innings.
