55,766 fans were treated to a fine game at Yankee Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The incredible Sea Isle Seagulls won
by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.

Sea Isle went ahead for good in the 3rd inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2
hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Johnny Damon who quieted the
crowd when he blasted a two-run home run (his 11th of the season). Yardley
made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs
across.

Paul Maholm(16-3) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.
Billy Wagner gained credit for his 2nd save. Ted Lilly(11-10) was the loser.
He was not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
