Lee had a great evening at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move. He popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 3rd inning, smacked a single which was good for two runs in the 4th inning and clubbed a three-run home run (his 19th of the season) in the 6th inning. Despite losing, Boston out-hit Binghamton 14 to 10. Mike Pelfrey(8-9) allowed 7 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Chad Qualls got the save, his 15th. J.P. Howell(6-5) took the loss in relief. 'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Lee said. 'Whenever I would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.' In a thriller the Philadelphia Phranks staged a dramatic comeback then held on to win over the ice-cold Pinehurst PinOaks by a score of 5 to 4 at Camden Yards. Philadelphia came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. The highlight belonged to Alexei Ramirez who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he doubled plating two runs. Ubaldo Jimenez(14-7) got help from Brad Lidge who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 25th save. Roy Corcoran(1-5) suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and no walks in 2/3 of an inning. Charlie Manual was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there? Washington went ahead for good in the 4th inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Colorado had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Braden Looper(7-13) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing no runs. Zach Duke(4-19) absorbed the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Clint Hurdle was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
