Second baseman Ian Kinsler hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Boston
Stranglers topped the Detroit 40's by a score of 2 to 1 at Comerica
Park.

doubled. Kinsler stepped into the batter's box and he bombed a two-run
dinger (his 14th of the season). That was all the offense they were to need.
Boston finished with just 5 hits in the victory.

The win went to Scott Kazmir(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Kazmir got help from Joakim Soria who earned his 26th save. A.J.

Miguel Tejada had 2 base hits at McAfee Coliseum where the phenomenal Cherry
Hill Maulers beat the Oakland Scrub AL 2 5 to 3.

Cherry Hill brought 4 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning with the help of
5 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Roy Halladay(18-6) and
Cherry Hill. That was all the run support Halladay required. Oakland had a
chance in the 9th but they came up short.

The loss was charged to Barry Zito(3-17). He gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 6
and 2/3 innings.
