At Rogers Centre the Toronto Scrub AL 1 halted a 8 game slide and outscored
the Wall St Millionaires 7 to 4.

Toronto won the game with a rally in the 8th inning scoring 5 runners on 5
hits. The key at-bat was by Geoff Blum who elicited a roar from the hometown
fans when he stroked a one-base hit which was good for two runs. Despite
losing, Wall St out-hit Toronto 11 to 8.

Manny Parra(2-9) allowed no runs in 3 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. J.C. Romero(1-3) was the losing pitcher in relief. 'Ahhh, that
victory was surely needed. Man alive, things were getting awfully grim,'
noted Cito Gaston. 'Now, we need to string a bunch of wins together and turn
things around!'

Ted Lilly had a strong outing as the Yardley Oaks defeated the reeling Oakland
Scrub AL 2 3 to 1 at Yankee Stadium.

Oakland lost it in the 3rd inning when Yardley did all their damage as they
scored 3 runs on 3 base hits. That early scoring was all that Lilly(13-11)
needed. Oakland was out-hit by Yardley, 7 hits to 4.

Frank Francisco was credited with his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Greg
Smith(7-17). He was pinned with the loss despite not allowing an earned run
in his 7 and 1/3 innings of work.

Yardley now has a record of 77-56. Bob Geren was pretty down after the loss.
'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 2-8 in the last
week or two. That won't get it done.'
