Adrian Gonzalez had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Ervin Santana dominated striking
out 11 Oakland batters as the Boston Stranglers defeated the Oakland Scrub AL
2 9 to 2 at McAfee Coliseum.
 
Santana(15-10) gave Boston a solid outing.  He allowed only 8 hits and 1 walk
in 9 innings and surrendered 2 'long-bombs'.  Boston had 15 hits for the
night.  
 
The losing pitcher was Greg Maddux(7-14).  Santana was pleased with his
performance.  He noted, 'I had good command of all my pitches.  Just as
important, my location was right on.'

Miguel Cabrera smacked 2 homeruns as the very talented Cherry Hill Maulers
beat the Yardley Oaks by a score of 11 to 2.
 
Cabrera enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He belted a three-run homer in
the 3rd inning and launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam
homerun (his 46th of the season) in the 7th inning.  For the game Cherry Hill
out-hit Yardley 11 to 5.  
 
Roy Oswalt(11-10) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 7 innings. Felix
Hernandez(10-11) ended up with the loss.  He was not very effective,
surrendering 7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Ryan Doumit cleared the bases with his grand slam as the indomitable Minnesota
SnowBirds defeated the Pinehurst PinOaks by a score of 9 to 5 at Camden
Yards.
 
Doumit had a good evening at the plate.  He lashed a single in the 1st inning
and depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam home run (his 18th
of the season) in the 5th inning.  Minnesota ended up with 14 hits for the
game while Pinehurst had 10.  
 
Josh Beckett(7-3) allowed 4 runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory.
Beckett got relief help from Mariano Rivera who gained credit for his 33rd
save.  The loss was charged to Mark Buehrle(9-16).  He allowed 9 hits and 3
walks in 4 innings.

Tim Lincecum struck out 11 batters as the streaking Philadelphia Phranks beat
the Colorado Scrub NL 2 by a score of 3 to 2.
 
Lincecum(20-5) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for
the Colorado batters.  He didn't allow much, just 2 hits and 2 walks in 7
innings.  Colorado had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
Heath Bell was credited with his 3rd save.  Glendon Rusch(1-8) was the losing
pitcher.  Lincecum was pleased with his performance.  He noted, 'I had good
command of all my pitches.  Just as important, my location was right on.'

Jonathan Sanchez(1-2) and Matt Cain(9-14) treated the Washington fans to a
fine pitching duel at Nationals Park.  The Washington Scrub NL 1 eventually
emerged as victors over the Wall St Millionaires by the score of 2 to
0.
 
Sanchez delivered a fine performance for Washington.  He was reached for 4
hits and 4 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA to 4.19.  The pitchers
took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again.
 
Sanchez got help from Francisco Cordero who was credited with his 20th save.
