Catcher Miguel Olivo blasted a homerun as the very talented Cherry Hill
Maulers topped the pitiful Toronto Scrub AL 1 by a score of 7 to 2 at Rogers
Centre.
 
Cherry Hill set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring a single run
utilizing 2 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Magglio Ordonez doubled.
Miguel Cabrera followed, but he was set down on strikes.  Manny Ramirez then
doubled.  Cherry Hill rapped out 9 hits for the night.  
 
Roy Halladay(22-7) went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. The losing
pitcher was Dana Eveland(5-12).  He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings and surrendered
8 hits and 4 walks.

the combatants at game's end.  The Boston Stranglers won by the slimmest of
margins, 3 to 2.
 
Andrew Brown(2-0) looked good in relief and was the winning pitcher.  He
allowed just 1 hit and no walks in 1 inning.  Minnesota was out-hit by
Boston, 8 hits to 5.  
 
Joakim Soria was credited with his 33rd save.  Bobby Jenks(3-1) took the loss
in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and 1 walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.

Detroit 40's by a score of 4 to 3 at Comerica Park.
 
Yardley claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring a single run
utilizing 2 base hits.  Robinson Cano lined a base-hit.  After an out was
recorded, Carlos Quentin came to the plate and drew a walk.  Teixeira then
stroked a single.  Jermaine Dye was up next and he grounded into a double
play.  Yardley had 8 hits for the night while Detroit had 5.  
 
The win went to Joba Chamberlain(10-9) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings. Joe Nathan earned his 36th save.  The loss was charged to Aaron
Cook(12-13).

strikeouts at Camden Yards as the Pinehurst PinOaks beat the hapless Oakland
Scrub AL 2 4 to 1.
 
McGowan(2-2) escaped virtually unscathed against the Oakland hitters.  He gave
up just 4 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.  Pinehurst totaled 10 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Javier Vazquez(2-17) absorbed the loss.  Bob Geren was upset after the game.
'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he
said.  'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's
printed in the rule book.'

In a game for the baseball purist, Carlos Zambrano(17-5) and Jorge
Campillo(11-17) squared off in a tense pitching duel, Sunshine State Stalkers
finally emerged victorious over Binghamton Brawlers, 2 to 1.
 
Zambrano earned his pay with a solid performance for Sunshine State.  He
surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.  Hong-Chih Kuo pitched a perfect
ninth to earn his 5th save.

batters as the Atlanta Prohibitioners beat the Colorado Scrub NL 2 by a score
of 9 to 3.
 
Webb(14-11) pitched a solid game.  He was reached for 9 hits and 3 walks in 8
and 1/3 innings.  Atlanta finished with 13 hits while Colorado ended up with
9.  
 
Tim Wakefield(2-18) took the loss.  Webb was humble when questioned about his
performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight.  But, I
had great support behind me and I just threw what was called.  That was an
extremely well called game!'

10,391 fans watched an exciting game at Nationals Park.  The Philadelphia
Phranks topped the reeling Washington Scrub NL 1 by the slimmest of margins,
4 to 3.
 
Heath Bell(2-1) was the winning pitcher in relief.  He went 2 innings
surrendering 2 hits and 2 walks.  Bell got help from Joel Hanrahan who
pitched great and earned his 2nd save.  
 
Randy Wolf(8-17) suffered the loss.  He allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 7 and
2/3 innings.
