Jeff Bennett took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Ryan Ludwick had 2 base
hits as the strong Sunshine State Stalkers outscored the Yardley Oaks 3 to
2.
 
Bennett(7-5) pitched well for Sunshine State in their victory.  He went 6 and
1/3 innings surrendering 2 hits and 3 walks.  Bennett struckout 7 Yardley
batters.  The right-handed Bennett had his no-hit bid broken up by Yunel
Escobar who singled with two outs in the 6th inning.  Sunshine State ended up
with 7 hits for the game while Yardley had 2.  
 
Mike Adams recorded his 5th save.  Gavin Floyd(16-8) ended up with the loss.
He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 6 walks.

26,685 fans were treated to a fine game at Comerica Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Detroit 40's won by the slimmest
of margins, 4 to 3.
 
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Detroit won the game in
the 10th inning.  Dustin Pedroia stroked a single.  Pedroia was safe at
second on a stolen base.  Grady Sizemore then banged out a single.  Detroit
continued their aggressive style with another stolen base.  Martin Prado
followed, but he was set down on strikes.  Jason Giambi did his part to keep
things going and delivered a one-base hit giving Detroit the win and sending
the home town fans into a frenzy.  Overall Detroit out-hit Sea Isle 11 to 6.
 
Brian Tallet(4-0) went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Jonathan
Broxton(3-4) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He allowed 3 hits and no
walks in 1 inning.

Chris Young pitched a complete game as the spectacular Wall St Millionaires
defeated the Minnesota SnowBirds by a score of 5 to 1 at Metrodome.
 
Wall St came up with 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning with the help of 3
hits.  The early run support proved sufficient for Young(2-0) and Wall St.
That was all the run support Young required.  Wall St managed 14 hits in
their victory.  
 
Francisco Liriano(3-4) took the loss.  He allowed 3 runs and 5 hits in 1 and
2/3 innings.

Miguel Cabrera touched them all and had 4 RBI at US Cellular Field where the
Cherry Hill Maulers beat the Philadelphia Phranks by the score of 8 to
1.
 
Cherry Hill drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits.  Mark Derosa led off and he drew a
walk.  Magglio Ordonez stepped up next and he smacked a single.  Cabrera then
lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 48th of the season).  Manny Ramirez came up
and he stroked a base-hit.  Aubrey Huff stepped into the box and grounded

The losing pitcher was Jamie Moyer(10-15).  He got hit pretty hard, allowing

At Turner Field the very potent Atlanta Prohibitioners put 5 runs on the
scoreboard in the 7th inning and outscored the Boston Stranglers 6 to
3.
 
Atlanta tallied 5 runs in the 7th inning when they had 3 base hits.  The
critical plate appearance was by Hanley Ramirez who made the Atlanta fans a
happy lot when he belted a three-run homer (his 40th of the season).  Atlanta
won despite being out-hit by Boston 11 hits to 8.  
 
Derek Lowe(11-13) allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Brian Fuentes recorded the save, his 39th.  Joe Saunders(11-11) was
tagged with the loss.  He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits and 3
walks.

The Binghamton Brawlers edged the struggling Pinehurst PinOaks at Shea Stadium
by the score of 4 to 3.
 
Kyle Lohse(7-21) earned his pay with a solid performance for Binghamton.  He
allowed 10 hits and 4 walks in 8 innings.  Lohse got help from Chad Qualls
who pitched great and earned his 21st save.  
 
Johan Santana(9-17) was tagged with the loss.  'He gutted it out' Jerry Manuel
said of Lohse.  'I was very impressed by his tenacity.'
