At Metrodome the Cherry Hill Maulers outscored the Minnesota SnowBirds 8 to
5.
 
Cherry Hill scored 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning with the help of 4
hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Aramis Ramirez who quieted the
crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners.  Cherry Hill rapped out 10
hits for the night.  
 
Mike Mussina(1-0) went 6 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Grant Balfour
got the save, his 2nd.  Matt Garza(2-1) was charged with the loss.  He was
not very effective, surrendering 6 runs in 5 innings.

In a two run game the Sunshine State Stalkers got by the Philadelphia Phranks
by the score of 4 to 2.
 
Sunshine State had the winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 5 hits.
After an out was recorded, Kevin Youkilis kicked off the action when he
ripped a base-knock.  Adam Dunn stepped into the batter's box and he blasted
a two-run home run (his 1st of the season).  Dan Uggla got his chance to keep
things going, but he went down on strikes.  Chris Iannetta followed and he
lined a one-base hit.  Ryan Theriot stepped into the box and lined a single.
Milton Bradley added to the uprising and banged out a single to load the
bases.  Chris Dickerson got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.
The Philadelphia batters went down meekly in the 9th.  
 
Steven Shell(3-1) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Chad
Billingsley(2-1) was the losing pitcher.  Despite the loss, he struckout 11
Sunshine State batters in 7 and 2/3 innings.
