The Washington Scrub NL 1 topped the Sunshine State Stalkers by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5. Aaron Harang(1-0) had a fairly solid outing. He was reached for 9 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings and allowed 2 gopher balls. Sunshine State threatened in the 9th but Washington was able to put down the rally. Harang got help from Jon Rauch who earned his 1st save. Ricky Nolasco(0-1) was charged with the loss. He was unable to control the Washington offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. Fredi Gonzalez was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks me off!'
