Morrow(6-5) had a solid outing for Toronto. He surrendered 4 hits and 1 walk in 5 and 2/3 innings seeing his ERA drop from 4.19 to 3.98. Toronto had only 6 hits for the game. Morrow got help from Mariano Rivera who was credited with his 19th save. Brett Myers(8-7) ended up with the loss. He surrendered 5 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. 'He was really impressive tonight,' Myers said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.' Hafner really lit it up for Oakland. The Detroit fans let him have it for what he did to their boys. He belted a three-run homer in the 3rd inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 5th inning. Oakland finished with 13 hits in the victory. The victory went to Brett Cecil(6-9) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing 4 runs. Dan Haren(10-9) was the losing pitcher. He served up 4 homeruns in his 6 and 2/3 innings. Baltimore scored all of the necessary runs in the 4th inning when they came up with 5 runs on 6 hits. The highlight belonged to Jose Guillen who silenced the crowd when he launched a three-run homer. Wall St threatened in the 9th but Baltimore was able to put down the rally. Lackey(4-13) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Matt Cain(6-8) was tagged with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. Scherzer(9-7) put on a good performance. He surrendered only 5 hits and 1 walk in 7 and 2/3 innings. Brian Fuentes was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 3rd save. The loss was charged to Jonathan Papelbon(2-1) in relief. Scherzer was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.' The game was won by Colorado with a run in the 9th inning. After two were out Soriano ripped a solo home run resulting in a mighty exciting win for Colorado and the 47,679 home town fans in attendance. Both teams totaled 8 hits on the night. Francisco Rodriguez(4-0) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Burke Badenhop(0-5) was given the loss in relief. The Colorado ballclub's record now stands at 61-34. Dusty Baker was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 1-9 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'

Sea Isle claimed the early lead in the first inning scoring one runner. Sea Isle had 16 hits overall, while Washington had 6. Cole Hamels(7-8) allowed 1 run in 8 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Bruce Chen(1-12) absorbed the loss. He got hammered, allowing 12 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings. Philadelphia jumped on top of Atlanta in the 4th inning scoring 2 runs. After two outs Andres Torres was the sparkplug when he drew a walk. Justin Upton was next and he drew a walk. Stephen Drew then doubled. Philadelphia had a total of 8 hits for the game. Madison Bumgarner(9-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 3 runs. Billy Wagner recorded the save, his 24th. Bronson Arroyo(7-11) took the loss. He surrendered 6 runs and 8 hits in 8 innings. Clay Buchholz(13-2) finally bested his Yardley opposite, Justin Verlander(11-7), by the score of 3 to 1. Cherry Hill had 2 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 4th inning. The big moment was provided by Mark Teixeira who made the crowd happy when he lined a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners. After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score. Buchholz got relief help from Joakim Soria who gained credit for his 28th save. Verlander suffered the loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered just 5 hits and 1 walk. Cherry Hill added another win to their now very impressive winning streak. Ozzie Guillen was thrilled following the game -- 'We're really on a roll now. These guys are playing their hearts out and I couldn't be happier for them!'
