It was a good day for Minnesota thanks to Hunter. He launched a three-run homer in the 1st inning, stroked a base-hit in the 2nd inning, smacked a single in the 4th inning and lined a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Minnesota kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings. The win went to Lewis(7-11) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Jason Hammel(5-14) absorbed the loss. With this win, Minnesota has a 57-42 record. They have been 5-5 lately. With the loss, the Oakland ballclub's record is 32-71. Colorado drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning scoring 3 runners on 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Rickie Weeks who brought a roar from the partisan Coors Field fans when he lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Jon Garland(7-9) got help from Stauffer who pitched great and earned his 5th save. Jason Vargas(8-8) was the loser. He was hit hard and gave up 7 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. Colorado now has a record of 64-35. Detroit has a record of 56-44 after the loss. WALL ST AT SEA ISLE Millionaires.... 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 1 3 0 Seagulls........ 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 0 4 0 Win:Hudson(15-6) Loss:Latos(10-7) Tim Hudson blanked Sea Isle in a very well-pitched complete game as the Wall St Millionaires outscored the Sea Isle Seagulls 1 to 0. Hudson(15-6) dominated Sea Isle hitters. He allowed just 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.89 to 3.68. Wall St had only 3 hits for the night. Mat Latos(10-7) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 9 innings giving up only 3 hits and 2 walks. Yardley erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning when they tallied 4 runs on 2 hits. The key at-bat was by Robinson Cano who made the crowd come alive when he rifled a three-run blast. This was the kind of game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times. The win went to Matt Thornton(4-3) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Craig Breslow(3-6) was hit with the loss in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 4 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. 'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park today,' Bautista said. 'I'm glad I decided to play!'

Norris(5-8) was solid in the win. He gave up just 7 hits and 6 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings. Sunshine State had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short. Burke Badenhop recorded the save, his 4th. The loss was charged to Ubaldo Jimenez(13-5). 'He was really impressive tonight,' Jimenez said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.' WASHINGTON AT ATLANTA Alouettes....... 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 - 1 5 0 Prohibitioners.. 0 1 1 1 1 0 0 0 - 4 7 0 Win:Billingsley(6-10) Loss:Floyd(4-14) Save:Soriano(16th) Homeruns- C.Rasmus(11th), H.Ramirez(11th) Chad Billingsley came through with a solid 8 innings and shortstop Hanley Ramirez homered as the Atlanta Prohibitioners bested the floundering Washington Alouettes 4 to 1 at Turner Field. Billingsley(6-10) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 5 hits and no walks in 8 innings. Atlanta had a total of 7 hits for the game. Billingsley got relief help from Rafael Soriano who gained credit for his 16th save. Gavin Floyd(4-14) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Wth the win Atlanta now has a record of 46-54. Washington can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 1-9 record over the last couple weeks. The deciding run was scored by Philadelphia in the bottom of the 9th. Andres Torres delivered a single. Charlie Manuel then called for a steal which was successful. Justin Upton followed, but he was set down on strikes. Stephen Drew was up next and he laced a single giving Philadelphia the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. For the game Philadelphia out-hit Baltimore 13 to 9. Joel Peralta(3-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. The loss was charged to Mitchell Boggs(0-2) in relief. Despite the loss, he struckout 5 Philadelphia batters in 2 and 2/3 innings. The Philadelphia ballclub's record now stands at a division leading 68-33. Buck Showalter was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 1-9 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'

Sabathia recorded a complete game shutout as the Cherry Hill Maulers defeated the Toronto Argonauts 7 to 0 at Rogers Centre. Sabathia(13-6) delivered a fine performance for Cherry Hill. He went 9 innings surrendering 9 hits and 2 walks. Cherry Hill rapped out 12 hits for the night. Joel Pineiro(8-8) ended up with the loss. He was knocked around by Cherry Hill, allowing 10 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.
