Sanchez(12-6) pitched a fine game. He went 8 and 1/3 innings surrendering 7 hits and 5 walks and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'. Sunshine State totaled 8 hits on the night. The losing pitcher was Jered Weaver(13-7). He gave up 8 hits and 6 walks in 8 innings. 'Everything felt great' Sanchez said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight.' It was a good day for Colorado thanks to Werth. He doubled resulting in a run in the 1st inning, doubled scoring a run in the 2nd inning, stroked a base-hit in the 5th inning and delivered a single knocking in a run in the 7th inning. Colorado had 17 hits for the night while Oakland had 10. The win went to Adam Wainwright(11-7) who allowed 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Chris Narveson(8-7) was the loser. He allowed 3 runs and 4 hits in 1/3 of an inning. Kershaw(16-3) was solid in the win. He allowed only 4 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Sea Isle managed 8 hits in their victory. Edwin Jackson(5-16) was tagged with the loss. Kershaw was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 11 strikeouts anytime!' Guerrero enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He stroked a single bringing in two baserunners in the 2nd inning, lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 5th inning and singled in the 7th inning. Yardley bats were hot in the 5th inning tallying 5 runs. Yardley had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings. The winning pitcher was David Price(7-7) who allowed 5 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Joe Saunders(2-17) suffered the loss. Lee(14-2) escaped virtually unscathed against the Washington hitters. He gave up just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Neither team managed to score after the 4th inning. Jonathon Niese(6-11) took the loss. He pitched 4 innings allowing 6 hits and 4 walks.

Wall St scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they had 4 base hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Wall St had 9 hits for the night. Braden(15-3) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Anibal Sanchez(9-9) was charged with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 6 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings. Hanson(12-5) dominated Boston hitters. He didn't give up much, just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Philadelphia had a total of 11 hits for the game. Trevor Cahill(10-8) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 11 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. The Toronto Argonauts won by the slimmest of margins, 8 to 7. Vernon Wells was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He cracked a solo homerun in the 2nd inning, doubled bringing home two baserunners in the 5th inning and doubled in the 7th inning. Cherry Hill threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Kevin Gregg(4-2) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Gregg got help from Mariano Rivera who was credited with his 22nd save. Ervin Santana(2-4) was the losing pitcher. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. 'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Ozzie Guillen 'But we have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
