Wall St provided plenty of action in the 1st inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 5 hits, the 6th inning which saw them score 5 runs on 6 hits and the 8th inning when they had 5 runs on 6 hits. Wall St had 21 hits for the afternoon while Baltimore had 10. Justin Masterson(1-10) was hit with the loss. He was unable to retire a batter and surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks. Cincinnati claimed the early lead in the first inning when they came up with 2 runs on 1 hit. That early run support was enough for Bud Norris(4-7) and Cincinnati. Cincinnati banged out 9 hits on the afternoon. Norris got relief help from Edward Mujica who gained credit for his 3rd save. Fausto Carmona(9-6) was tagged with the loss. He pitched 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 walks. Dusty Baker was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.' Colorado scored 2 runs in the decisive 7th inning. The highlight belonged to Reyes who came through for the home fans when he doubled which was good for two runs. Boston made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. Livan Hernandez(9-5) allowed 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Carlos Marmol recorded his 20th save. Jon Lester(6-5) took the loss. Colorado extended their winning streak to 8 games. Sea Isle had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After two outs Gaby Sanchez got things rolling when he delivered a one-base hit. Bourn took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Sea Isle continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Jason Heyward stepped in and he bombed a two-run dinger. Shane Victorino was the next batter, but he struck out. Detroit had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Sean Marshall(4-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing no runs. Marshall got help from Brian Wilson who earned his 16th save. Evan Meek(1-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 1 hit in 1/3 of an inning.

Atlanta was unable to claim the lead after Yardley went ahead in the 2nd inning when they scored 2 runs on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Daric Barton who electrified Yankee Stadium when he laced a one-base hit plating two runs. Yardley out-hit Atlanta for the game, 9 hits to 4. The win went to Felix Hernandez(9-8) who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings. Neftali Feliz got the save, his 14th. R.A. Dickey(3-3) was the losing pitcher. Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Toronto ended up winning it in the 10th inning. After two were out Sean Rodriguez banged out a single. Hamilton stepped up next and he doubled giving Toronto the victory and sending the 45,034 home-town fans home happy. Toronto had 10 hits for the afternoon. Romero(12-6) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Heath Bell(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 5 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings. Braun helped send the fans home happy. He laced a single in the 1st inning, doubled in the 5th inning, doubled plating all three baserunners in the 5th inning and doubled in the 7th inning. Philadelphia bats were very productive in the 2nd inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits and the 5th inning with 10 runs on 11 hits. Philadelphia had 22 hits overall, while Oakland had 9. Johnny Cueto(1-0) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Jason Hammel(4-12) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in 1 inning. It was another victory for Philadelphia at Citizen's Bank Park. Now their winning streak stands at 7 games.

Shaun Marcum(7-1) earned his pay with a solid performance for Cherry Hill. He went 7 innings surrendering 7 hits and 2 walks. Marcum whiffed an impressive total of 8 Washington batters. Cherry Hill ended up with 12 hits for the game while Washington had 8. Joakim Soria was credited with his 23rd save. Gavin Floyd(3-12) was the loser.
