Alex Rios came to the plate and cleared the fences for a two-run home run. Marcus Thames then was hit by a pitch. Yorvit Torrealba was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Howie Kendrick came up to bat and grounded into a double play. Baltimore went down quietly in the bottom of the 10th. Craig Breslow(3-5) went 3 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Brad Ziegler(2-3) was hit with the loss in relief. His ERA increased from 4.17 to 4.60 as he allowed 4 runs in 4 innings. Toronto won the game with a run in the 9th inning. Hamilton ripped a solo home run giving Toronto the victory and sending the 24,163 home-town fans home happy. The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 6 times. The victory went to Mariano Rivera(2-2) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Kris Medlen(3-1) was charged with the loss in relief. Scott had a big day with his bat. He delivered a solo blast in the 4th inning and lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the 4th inning. Detroit had 10 hits for the night. Jered Weaver(11-5) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. David Price(6-7) took the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 6 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. In the 2nd inning Wall St scored 4 runs. That early run support was enough for Dallas Braden(12-3) and Wall St. Wall St had 9 hits for the night while Sunshine State had 6. Chris Perez was credited with his 13th save. The loss was charged to Jonathan Sanchez(9-6). He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 7 hits and 7 walks. Jonathon Niese(6-7) gave Washington a solid outing. He went 5 and 2/3 innings and surrended up 6 hits and 4 walks. Niese recorded 7 strikeouts. Washington had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings. Edwin Jackson(4-13) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 8 runs in 6 innings of work. 'We really needed this win' said Moises Alou. 'That first drink of water at the end of a drought sure does taste good!'

Posada enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 5th inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 8th inning. Overall Philadelphia out-hit Colorado 14 to 10. The victory was credited to Madison Bumgarner(8-1) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs. The losing pitcher was Barry Zito(6-7). He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 8 innings of work. In another of a string of victories, Philadelphia knocked extended their winning streak to 9 games. Sabathia went the distance as the red-hot Cherry Hill Maulers crushed the Oakland Roughriders 18 to 2. Cabrera provided much of the offense. He stroked a base-hit which was good for two runs in the 4th inning, laced a single which brought home a run in the 5th inning, doubled scoring a run in the 7th inning and slapped a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Cherry Hill lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning which saw them score 6 runs on 3 hits. The Cherry Hill offense man-handled the Oakland pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings. The win went to Sabathia(10-6) who allowed 2 runs in the game. The losing pitcher was Chris Narveson(8-5). 'I've been working on a few things in my delivery, and I think I'm hitting a good groove.' Sabathia said after the game. 'I'm ready to start another game tomorrow!'
