Trevor Cahill(12-10) earned his pay with a solid performance for Boston. He went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 walks. Boston totaled 9 hits on the night. Clayton Richard(3-17) was tagged with the loss. With this win, Boston has a 66-61 record. They have been 7-3 lately. With the loss, Baltimore has a record of 4-6 lately, 28-100, worst in the division overall. Toronto scored 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning when they came up with 3 base hits. The key at-bat was by Casilla who silenced Comerica Park as he ripped a base-hit plating two runs. Detroit tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th. The winning pitcher was Johan Santana(11-10) who allowed 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Kerry Wood gained credit for his 2nd save. Jered Weaver(16-8) took the loss. Wth the win Toronto now has a record of 69-58. With the loss, the Detroit ballclub's record is 71-56. It was a good day for Colorado thanks to Edmonds. He stroked a single in the 3rd inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 4th inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 7th inning. Colorado managed 15 hits in their victory. The victory went to Oswalt(18-4) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. Gavin Floyd(5-17) suffered the loss. He was unable to control the Colorado offense and allowed 13 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. Oswalt was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the victory and I'll sure take 12 strikeouts anytime!' Yardley had the game winning rally in the top of the 8th inning plating 2 runs. Jose Bautista started the inning off right when he was hit by a pitch. Kameron Loe then threw a pitch that got away from the catcher. Cano then blasted a two-run home run. Two outs later Austin Jackson got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Oakland went down without a fight in the bottom of the 9th. The victory went to Alexi Ogando(2-3) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Ogando was helped out by Joaquin Benoit who recorded his 3rd save. Loe(0-3) absorbed the loss in relief.

Sanchez(12-9) pitched well for Atlanta in their victory. He went 9 innings and surrended up 5 hits and 3 walks and surrendered 2 homeruns. Atlanta had 7 hits for the night. Randy Wells(6-15) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits and 3 walks. Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Sunshine State came out on top in the 12th inning. Jonathan Herrera laced a single. Kosuke Fukudome came next and he drew a walk. Martin Prado struck out, unable to help the rally. Troy Tulowitzki followed next and he slapped a base-hit to load the bases. Hunter Pence stepped into the box and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Dexter Fowler added to the outburst and drew a walk resulting in an exciting win for Sunshine State and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. Sunshine State banged out 9 hits on the night. The win was credited to Brandon Lyon(2-1) who went 2 innings allowing no runs. The loss was charged to Sean Marshall(4-3) in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings giving up 2 hits and 3 walks. MINNESOTA AT CHERRY HILL Snow Birds...... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 0 4 0 Maulers......... 0 2 2 0 1 2 1 0 - 8 15 0 Win:Greinke(12-10) Loss:Carmona(12-11) Homeruns- N.Swisher(20th) Zack Greinke had a strong outing and Nick Swisher left the yard and had 2 RBI as the Cherry Hill Maulers beat the Minnesota Snow Birds by a score of 8 to 0. Minnesota was unable to climb back into it after Cherry Hill went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they scored 2 runs on 1 hit. That was all the offense they were to need. Cherry Hill had a total of 15 hits for the game. Greinke(12-10) went the distance for the shutout. The loss was charged to Fausto Carmona(12-11). He was knocked around by Cherry Hill, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Rodriguez(14-5) escaped virtually unscathed against the Wall St hitters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 3 walks in 8 innings. Rodriguez whiffed an impressive total of 10 Wall St batters. The left-handed Rodriguez lost his chance for a no-hitter when Albert Pujols homered with nobody out in the 7th inning. Philadelphia finished with just 6 hits in the victory. Billy Wagner earned the save, his 34th. Dallas Braden(16-4) was the losing pitcher. Rodriguez was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again in my next outing.'
