Ryan Dempster(4-1) delivered a fine performance for Sunshine State. He allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings lowering his ERA from 3.35 to 3.15. Sunshine State had 9 hits for the afternoon. Heath Bell recorded the save, his 37th. Joe Saunders(3-19) took the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 7 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings. The final score was the powerful Colorado Eskimos 4, the Toronto Argonauts 3. Adam Wainwright(16-7) gave Colorado a solid outing. He went 7 and 1/3 innings and surrended up 6 hits and 4 walks. Colorado had a total of 7 hits for the game. Mike Adams recorded his 1st save. Brett Anderson(1-2) absorbed the loss. His ERA ballooned from 2.60 to 3.18 as he allowed 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Yardley erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning plating 2 runs. Jose Bautista opened up the inning nicely when he drew a walk. Austin Jackson followed next and he drew a walk. Two outs later Vladimir Guerrero came to bat and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Ryan Sweeney stepped in and he lined a base-hit making Yardley victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Yardley totaled 10 hits on the afternoon. Alexi Ogando(3-3) allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. The loss was charged to Brian Wilson(2-4) in relief. 'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like this, of course,' Joe Girardi offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!' Cain(13-8) pitched well for Wall St in their victory. He was reached for 6 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 1/3 innings and allowed 3 gopher balls. Boston had a chance in the 9th but they came up short. Cain got relief help from Chris Perez who gained credit for his 21st save. Gio Gonzalez(10-8) was given the loss. He got hammered, allowing 10 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. The Wall St fans were thrilled by the performance put forth by Cain, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a loud cheer.' Mike Quade said following the game.

Branyan enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 1st inning and ripped a solo home run in the 2nd inning. Cincinnati managed 9 hits in their victory. The win went to Jackson(6-20) who allowed 5 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings. Ramon Ramirez preserved the game for Jackson, recording his his 2nd. Vicente Padilla(0-3) was hit with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 1 and 2/3 innings. Jackson was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.' Arroyo(9-16) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Oakland offense. He gave up just 3 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings. Atlanta had just 5 hits for the afternoon. Guillermo Mota(2-3) ended up with the loss in relief. Bob Geren was obviously impressed with the pitching of Arroyo, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there this afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.' The score was tied at 2 after nine. Detroit came out the victor in the 10th inning. Billy Butler laced a base-hit. Crisp took second on a stolen base. After an out was recorded, Shin-Soo Choo stepped up to the plate and he doubled making Detroit the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Both teams totaled 8 hits on the night. The victory went to Daniel Bard(2-1) who went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing no runs. Cliff Lee(15-5) was charged with the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 8 hits in 9 and 1/3 innings.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Philadelphia ended up winning it in the 13th inning. Dan Uggla doubled. Ivan Rodriguez was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Andres Torres then slapped a base-hit. Michael Morse was up next and he hit a sacrifice fly. Torres took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Overall Philadelphia out-hit Cherry Hill 9 to 6. The victory was credited to Billy Wagner(7-4) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs. Wagner got help from Sean Burnett who earned his 1st save. The loss was charged to J.J. Putz(1-1) in relief.
