The score was tied at 5 after nine. Atlanta won the game in the 10th inning. Holliday doubled. Casey Blake next to the plate and he doubled giving Atlanta the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Atlanta had a total of 13 hits for the game. Rafael Soriano(2-3) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Justin Verlander(13-11) was the losing pitcher. He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. Matt Garza(11-11) pitched a fine game. He allowed 7 hits and 6 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. Garza whiffed an impressive total of 8 Colorado batters. Boston and Colorado each finished the night with 8 hits. Craig Breslow preserved the game for Garza, recording his his 7th. Barry Zito(10-10) absorbed the loss. Wth the win Boston now has a record of 72-68. With the loss, the Colorado ballclub's record is 92-48. The Wall St fans enjoyed the offense provided by Hart. He hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of his teammates in the 1st inning, smacked a single in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 4th inning and banged out a one-base hit in the 8th inning. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again. Hudson(19-8), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Brian Duensing(4-3) was given the loss. He was unable to retire a batter allowing 4 hits and no walks. MINNESOTA AT SUNSHINE STATE Snow Birds...... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 - 1 5 1 Stalkers........ 0 0 0 0 4 0 2 1 - 7 10 1 Win:Kuroda(15-8) Loss:Matusz(1-2) Martin Prado hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI at Sun Life Stadium where the very potent Sunshine State Stalkers beat the Minnesota Snow Birds 7 to 1. Sunshine State scored 4 runs in the decisive 5th inning when they had 5 base hits. The key at-bat was by Prado who brought a roar from the partisan Sun Life Stadium fans when he doubled bringing in two baserunners. Sunshine State had 10 hits for the night while Minnesota had 5. Hiroki Kuroda(15-8) allowed 1 run in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Brian Matusz(1-2) was hit with the loss. He pitched 4 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 1 walk. Washington claimed the early lead in the first inning plating one baserunner using 3 hits. Cody Ross ripped a base-knock. Alcides Escobar followed next and he doubled. After another out, Jonny Gomes dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Juan Rivera was up next and he stroked a one-base hit. Both teams totaled 7 hits on the night. Buehrle got help from Huston Street who earned his 13th save. 'It's been a rough ride lately, but this was a good win for us' said Moises Alou, 'Maybe this will put us back on track.'

Baltimore never recovered after Oakland took the lead in the 7th inning with 2 runs on 4 base hits. Alberto Callaspo led off and keyed the rally when he lined a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Denard Span stepped in and he clubbed a two-run home run. After another out, Travis Hafner came to bat and lashed a single. Jason Kubel followed and he ripped a base-hit. Baltimore was out-hit by Oakland, 14 hits to 8. The winning pitcher was Logan Ondrusek(2-0) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Ondrusek got help from Bobby Jenks who was credited with his 12th save. John Lackey(7-19) was tagged with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Oakland now has a record of 40-101. Baltimore has a record of 33-108, worst in the division after the loss. The game was won by Cherry Hill with a run in the 8th inning. Miguel Cabrera ripped a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Mark Teixeira stepped in and he doubled. After another out, Carl Crawford stepped up to the plate and he was walked intentionally. Joakim Soria relieved and was untouched by Detroit as he recorded the save, his 43rd. The win went to Roy Halladay(19-12) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Grant Balfour(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 3 hits in 1 and 2/3 innings. The Philadelphia Phranks eventually emerged as victors over the Sea Isle Seagulls by the score of 1 to 0. The winning run, and the only run, was scored by Philadelphia in the 6th inning. Garcia got help from Billy Wagner who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 36th save.
