Cincinnati won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning scoring 2 runs. After an out was recorded, Jorge Cantu began the rally when he drew a walk. Jack Cust struck out, unable to help the rally. Humberto Quintero then popped a two-run clout over the fence. Cincinnati had just 5 hits for the night. Burke Badenhop(1-7) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Tom Gorzelanny gained credit for his 4th save. Joakim Soria(3-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. His ERA ballooned from 1.81 to 2.08 as he allowed 2 runs in 1 inning. Soria was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get away. What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
