Alex Rios next to the plate and he hit a bases-empty home run. Boston out-hit Philadelphia for the game, 8 hits to 4. Scott Downs(1-2) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Billy Wagner(8-5) absorbed the loss in relief. Bob Geren was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, Charlie Manuel, feels right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one of these!'
