Wilson was unconscious out there. While Cherry Hill pitching was serving softballs up there for him to hit, the Cherry Hill fans were serving up some hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam home run in the 8th inning and caught a hold of a bad pitch for a Grand Slam homerun (his 14th of the season) in the 9th inning. Sunshine State managed 15 in their victory. The victory was credited to McGowan(8-10) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs. Scott Baker(6-3) was the loser. Mike Scioscia was impressed with McGowan and his 11 strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.' Toronto banged out 12 on the afternoon. Mike Mussina(8-7) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings and allowing 2 runs. Chad Cordero was credited with his 8th save. The loss was charged to Gil Meche(10-5). He was unable to control the Toronto offense and allowed 11 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
